Despite the smell of shit all around him, Chris Brown’s “career” is not over yet and is seemingly unaffected by the whole Rihanna despicableness.

According to Soundscan, sales of Brown’s most recent album, Exclusive, have remained steady in the weeks both before and after the alleged woman beating.

The album has been moving a steady 3,000 copies a week in the U.S. since late January.

The sad and of the now saga of Jade Goody continues, thankfully.

Every day for the British reality TV star is a cherished one as she is dying publicly, documenting and profiting off her life, as she has for the last 5+ years.

Goody, whose cancer is terminal and has spread to her brain, was baptized in her London hospital on Saturday, along with her two young sons.

Jade had hoped to be good enough to do it at a church but was feeling too ill and the christening had to take place at the hospital chapel.

Her publicist said the “very pale and fragile” Goody was in a wheelchair and assisted by nurses during the service at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital.

The ceremony is the last thing the reality TV star will do in the public eye, says her rep.

Goody’s husband, Jack Tweed, and her mother, Jackiey Budden, were also present at the ceremony along with other members of her family.

Her publicist says:

“It was in my mind that she was saying a final goodbye to some people. Jade was obviously very happy with the whole thing; Jeff was there on one side, Jack was there on the other side, and it was a very short and emotional service.

I think everybody knew just how important it was to Jade.

She finds it very hard to stay awake for more than a few minutes but she stayed awake for the 20 minutes of the service.

It was a very positive atmosphere, after each of the boys were christened everyone clapped and after Jade was christened everyone clapped again.

It was a very simple service. There were prayers and blessings and a few short readings.”

Late Night talker Jimmy Kimmel and his long-time girlfriend, the ferociously funny Sarah Silverman, have split.

The pair first broke up last July after five years of dating, only to reunite a few months later.

This time, though, it seems that’s it’s over over.

“Sarah initiated the split this time,” says a source. “He’s bummed.”

Seconds another insider, “Seems like it’s over for good this time. He’s sad because he just bought a new place and now has nobody to share it with.”

How doodling could help you boost your brainpower

It seems those of us who covered our school books with scribbles may not have had an entirely wasted education.

For doodling may actually be good for the brain, scientists claim.

Far from being a sign of inattention, it is thought to focus the mind and stop daydreaming, allowing people to persevere with dull tasks.

Researcher Jackie Andrade, who conducted a study into the habit, said: ‘This study suggests that in everyday life doodling may be something we do because it helps keep us on track with a boring tasks, rather than being an unnecessary distraction that we should try to resist.’

Professor Andrade, of Plymouth University, asked 40 men and women to listen to a tedious telephone message about plans for a party.

It included names of guests, as well as names of people who would not attend, place names and other irrelevant material.

None of the participants was told they were to be tested to see how much they remembered afterwards.

The doodlers - around half of those who took part - had written down more names while listening to the message, the journal Applied Cognitive Psychology reports.

They also had better recall for both the party-goers’ names and place names mentioned in the recording - remembering nearly a third more than the others.

Professor Andrade said that doodling may help because it is simple enough not to drain brainpower, therefore allowing the mind to carry out a task without affecting how well it is done.

And by preventing concentration from wandering, it may help us focus better.

On Friday, Tobey Maguire was spotted leaving Barneys in New York with his adorable daughter, Ruby Maguire, in the stroller. Oh, and his non-celeb wifey was also there.

The happy family strolled down the streets of New York with baby Ruby all bundled up.

Perhaps that’s a trend Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes should follow!
